Beneath the Surface is an exhibition by miun. It’s an interactive conceptual artwork incorporating Impossible Film as the main medium.

Since the birth of Impossible Film, Miun has embarked on a long 3-year journey in exploring what’s beyond the mylar sheet, constantly experimenting with the amazing layers beneath the surface by slicing open, peeling and manipulating the strength and weakness of the Impossible Film.

In a 2-part series, Miun’s creativity shines through with interactive pieces that illustrate so much more depth and magic in a Polaroid frame than an instant photograph. A powerful series that will surprise, amuse, interest and inspire viewers.an exhibition by miun

Upcoming Impossible NYC 8x10 Events

Michelle Casper, | 34 days ago

This past Saturday and Sunday, we hosted another 8×10 Portrait Weekend. In addition to the usual photographs of individuals and couples, this weekend was extra special for Mother’s Day. The event attracted families of all types, with several children surprising their favorite lady with a special portrait session. We also photographed our youngest model to date, at only seven weeks old. Everyone had a lot of fun, and some great memories were captures on Impossible film.

Our next 8×10 Portrait Days are scheduled for June 8th and 9th, and as always, time slots fill up quickly, so give the store a call to reserve your space. We are also now photographing by appointment. So if you are in NYC for a short time only, or are otherwise unable to make our scheduled 8×10 Portrait Days, give the store a call (212-219-3254) to set up an appointment to have you and/or your loved ones captured in this beautiful format. It is an amazing way to commemorate a college or high school graduation!

To learn how to shoot these gorgeous large format images yourself, don’t miss your opportunity to register for our upcoming 8×10 Workshop presented by 20×24 Studio. This informative workshop is a great introduction to large format photography and is a must-do for any photography enthusiast.

Polaroid Factory by Sean Raggett

Marlene Kelnreiter | 47 days ago

MAY 3 - JUN 4, 2013
9am - 5pm
Printhouse Gallery
Aswhin Street
E8 3DL London

“Polaroid Factory” is a photographic exhibition featuring images made at the Impossible Factory – the world’s last remaining production facilities of traditional instant film.

Sean Raggett (b. 1972, Vancouver) presents large-scale chromeogenic transparencies in lightboxes to both document and represent allegories of shifting technology. At one point, Polaroid produced its instant film in only three major factories in the world, and after the company’s bankruptcy in 2001, Enschede’s was the last to close.
“Polaroid Factory” celebrates the life-cycle of traditional instant photography in the 20th century, as well as its subsequent rebirth in the 21st century.
