MANTÚANART

Marlene Kelnreiter | Apr 8, 09:43 AM

APR 9 - 14, 2013
10am - 7pm
Mantù Showroom
Via Gaspare Bugatti 13
Zona Tortona
Milan
Italy

With the opening of the Salone Milan Design Week, the Mantù showroom opens its doors to the public for an original project, curated by Nu Bureau.

Seven selected artists within the network of Polaroiders captured and interpreted the world of Mantù using Impossible instant film.

In a large three-dimensional map, Giacomo Inches, Fabio Interra, Franco Mammana, Alan Marcheselli, Carmen Palermo, Matteo Rosso and Lucia Semprebon created a collage of images and references: from the details of the fabrics up to the images of the craftsmen at work in the making of garments, from the glimpses of the city of Mantua where the collections find their inspiration, up to the the garments worn and re-contextualized in unedited versions.

In addition to the exhibition, the Impossible Partner Store Maranello is presenting a Pop Up Store and a set for analog instant photo shootings.

Opening with free shooting performance
APR 9, 7pm-9pm

Massimiliano Muner - Fractured Polaroid

Milano

The Impossible Corner Store Milan is looking forward to open a new exhibition by Massimiliano Muner. He will present a new series of photos. These “fractured Polaroids”, as the title suggests, express the concept of breaking. The fracture is intended in a double meaning: materic and spiritual. The photos in the readymade, done with instant films, are cut and reassembled, searching for a new space dimension. It also reminds of a psychological fracture, through an introspective journey, created by photographic compositions and messages written on the film.

Opening
Thursday, March 21st, 6 p.m.

On the technique
The “famous cut” created by Fontana, the genius of the compositions of Hockney and Galimberti: from the alchemy of these elements the idea of using the Polaroid in a new way was born. These ready-mades are a “decomposition and re-composition” of a work.
The works presented are reinterpretations of famous art works as well as brand new compositions.
