Impossible Silver Shade Tour Launches at Coachella with Flaunt Magazine!

Lucile Le Doze, | Apr 23, 12:06 PM

Coachella girls enjoying the party in Silver Schade

Our Impossible Silver Shade Tour kicked off during the late night bash at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival hosted by Flaunt Magazine. The 1960’s custom-designed vintage Airstream nicknamed Silver Shade, housed our photo booth and hundreds of beautiful people during the party.

In partnership with Flaunt Magazine, we had shared the Impossible mantra across the party as everyone who attended kept their images. Singer Kelis was barbecuing for everyone with her company Feast just in time for her new album Food, many cleansed their souls in the Baptismal pool, and we had special guests including Balthazar Getty, and rapper KO The Legend all in the Silver Shade photo booth.

The tour is in full swing and currently in Los Angeles. Our next stops include to Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Lollapalooza – Chicago, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, completing its journey at New York’s Photo Plus Expo 2014.

Impossible is embarking on a new retail strategy, opening several smaller, higher-profile stores around the world (including NYC) over the next 2 years. However, this means that the current NYC Space store closed on the 31st of March 2014.

To celebrate the last 4 years at this hub of all things Impossible, we hosted a huge party! Impossible NYC alum, Jon Campolo (aka JNCO JEANS) DJ’ed. We also provided snacks, beer from Brooklyn Brewery, a DANCE CONTEST, free photo booths, prizes, amazing deals, giveaways and SWAG.

In addition to celebrating the space itself, we celebrated the closing of our last exhibition in the space, Portroids by Rick DeMint. For more than 10 years, DeMint has been taking portroids (autographed Polaroid portraits) of friends, family, and notable people from the worlds of television, film, comedy, sports, politics, music, literature, dance, and theater.

Currently the space on 425 Broadway, 5th FL, New York, NY 10013, remains open as Impossible’s premiere repair/rental house and 8×10 portrait studio available by appointment.

Rommel Pecson's Pictorialist Journey Through New York

Simon Byrne, | Jul 8, 04:53 PM

JUL 25 - SEP 20, 2013
Impossible Project Space New York
425 Broadway
5th Floor
New York
NY 10013

From July 25th, the Impossible Project Space New York will be host to a special solo exhibition from photographer Rommel Pecson. “New York: A Pictorialist Journey” is a year-long project in which Pecson captures the city that never sleeps exclusively with Polaroid cameras and analog instant film.

Shot entirely with Impossible Silver Shade Black and White instant film the exhibition sees Pecson embracing the past and attempting to return some of what’s been lost through the city’s rapid transformation. Carefully selected certain scenes and buildings, as well as deliberately shooting from particular angles, his timeless photographs present a nostalgic portrait of New York.

For several years Rommel has worked as a freelance photojournalist in and around New York, as well as in California. His editorial images have appeared in Time, U.S. News, World Report, the Village Voice and other publications in the States and abroad. After working for many years with digital photography, he has returned to analog photography – specifically shooting with instant and large format films.

The opening will take place on July 25th
